Summary
Beginning with SwyxWare 6.10 it is possible to control some functions through so-called function codes.
You have to distinguish between general function codes (those can be used basically by any user from any internal end device) and special function codes for SwyxMobile (those can only be used by DTMF dialling from mobile phones or any other end devices where the SwyxMobile function has been activated for).
The SwyxMobile specific function codes are described in the SwyxWare Administrator manual in chapter 22.8.1 (Connection of Mobile Phones, Available SwyxWare Functions, Function Codes on the MobileExtensionManager).
This article describes the general function codes.
You can find a summary of all function codes also in the SwyxWare Administrator manual in chapter 19.10 (Function codes).
Information
The feature codes have been introduced to allow also "non-SwyxPhones/SwyxIt!s" (e.g. third-party SIP-phones, analog phones, DECT phones) to use some functions of SwyxWare.
Some of those devices already have special function keys which can be programmed with an dial string, alternatively you can use speed dial keys or entries in the local phonebook.
With the following feature codes a SwyWare user can activate different call forwarding settings and access the Voicemail Remote Inquiry from his own end device. Some functions can also be initiated from end devices of other users.

For the next SwyxWare releases there are already further function codes planned.
Example of use no. 1, voicemail key for D200/D300 DECT handsets:
A reasonable example for using a feature code is e.g. also possible with the Swyx D200 and D300 DECT handsets, which already have a special key for voicemail access. You can now programm this key with the feature code ##10 and then you can enter you own Voicemail Remote Inquiry at anytime by pressing this key.
Example of use no. 2, record a notice:
Within the Voicemail Remote Inquiry it is possible to use point 5 to record a notice that will be send to you by email. For using this practical feature more often and simple, without having to abort your new voicemails and going to the main menu as usual before, just dial "##105" now to jump there directly.
To be able to use this function fast and uncomplicated any time, it is recommended to assign this function to a Speed Dial which you could label "Record notice".
Example of use no. 3, transferring calls between your own phones:
This feature can e.g. be used to transfer an active call to one of the other devices of a user in the following way: User A has an active call to user B at his office phone L420. He likes to transfer this call to his D300 DECT phone. Therefore he puts the active call on hold and calls the “##70*” at the second line. As soon as his D300 signals the call he accepts the call at the handset and transfers the call to user A from his L420 to his DECT phone.
Or imagine you have a call on your office phone but have to leave the office - use this function to transfer the call to your mobile phone.
To be able to use this function fast and uncomplicated any time, it is recommended to assign this function to a Speed Dial which you could label "My phones".
