The information in this article applies to the following products:
- SwyxDECT 500
- Enreach DECT 600
SUMMARY
With the Enreach DECT 600 L Multicell system, Enreach presents the update to the proven SwyxDECT 500.
SwyxDECT 500 and Enreach DECT 600 Multicell systems and their respective components are compatible with each other under certain conditions. In particular, if individual components of an existing SwyxDECT 500 system fail, these can be replaced by corresponding DECT 600 components.
This means that the operation and spare parts supply of existing systems is also secured in the future.
This article describes the prerequisites and, if applicable, restrictions for mixed operation.
INFORMATION
In the case of mixed operation of SwyxDECT 500 and Enreach DECT 600 systems and components, a distinction must generally be made between 2 scenarios.
Extension of an existing SwyxDECT 500 system
Prerequisite:
The SwyxDECT 500 system is on the latest firmware version (at least v5.30.B02). All components, i.e. also the DECT 600 components, must be downgraded to the corresponding firmware version.
For smooth mixed operation, Enreach has created a Firmware Compatibility Pack based on v5.30.B02, which contains the firmware for all components. Future firmware packs will always have this scope.
DECT BS 600 L / BS 600 Outdoor
Scenario: Extension of a SwyxDECT 500 system or replacement of a SwyxDECT 500 base station.
Connect the new base as usual as slave to its configured master and install the firmware from the Firmware Compatibility Pack on the new base.
Restrictions: The Web UI of the DECT 600 base switches from the new Enreach brand to the former Swyx brand.
DECT R 600 Repeater
Scenario: Extension of a SwyxDECT 500 system or replacement of a SwyxDECT 500 repeater
Connect the new repeater to the desired base as usual and install the firmware from the Firmware Compatibility Pack on the new DECT R 600 repeater.
Restrictions: Only a maximum of 3 repeaters can be connected to a SwyxDECT 500 base. This also applies to the DECT R 600 Repeater.
DECT HS 6x0 Handsets
Scenario: Extension of a SwyxDECT 500 system with additional handsets or replacement of a SwyxPhone D510 or D565.
Connect the handsets to the SwyxDECT 500 system as usual and install the firmware from the Firmware Compatibility Pack on the new handset.
Restrictions: After the downgrade the HS 6x0 switches from the new Enreach branded UI to the former Swyx UI. There is no functional restriction compared to the D5xx devices.
DECT BS 600 S
The bases of the Enreach DECT 600 S Microcell system cannot be connected to SwyxDECT 500.
Extension of an existing Enreach DECT 600 system
Prerequisite:
The Enreach DECT 600 system is on the latest firmware version (at least v6.10.B02). All components, i.e. especially the SwyxDECT 500 components, must be updated to the corresponding firmware version.
For smooth mixed operation Enreach keeps a firmware package which contains the firmware for all supported components. Future firmware packages will always have this scope.
DECT 500 Base / DECT 500 Outdoor Basis
It is not possible to operate a SwyxDECT 500 base on an Enreach DECT 600 S/L system.
DECT 500 Repeater
It is not possible to operate a SwyxDECT 500 repeater on an Enreach DECT 600 S/L system.
SwyxPhone D5x0

Connect the handsets to the Enreach DECT 600 S/L system as usual and install the firmware from the DECT 600 firmware package on the handset.
Limitations: After the update, the phones will still have the Swyx UI. There is no functional limitation compared to the DECT HS 6x0 devices.
