Release SwyxPhone Firmware V2 R0.15.0 for L7 - Desk Phones

Summary

Enreach releases the new firmware V2 R0.15.0 for the new SwyxPhone L7 desk phone series. The firmware will be made available for download via FTP and for manual download on a short notice.

Information

The firmware version V2 R0.15.0 for the SwyxPhone L7 series is mainly a regular software maintenance release that fixes some issues that have been reported during the last months.
Amongst other things it fixes an issue with L7 desk phones in VLAN environments that has also been reported from Swyx channels. For further information please read the release notes from Unify attached to this article.
Specifically for Swyx, the following bug has been fixed, which was originally fixed for the L6 series:

  • If a call notification occurs parallel to an incoming call, the display remains blank until the call notification has expired (SwyxPhone L74/L77)

Note on SwyxPhone Firmware Update

To update the firmware at your SwyxServer you have to perform the following steps related to the installed Swyx version:

Open the Server Settings within the SwyxWare Administration and select the tab "SwyxPhone Firmware Update". Within this configuration select the option "Get". Hereby the SwyxServer will contact the Swyx FTP server (ftp.swyx.com) which is configured by default and query the latest firmware version. To update the firmware at your SwyxServer you have to perform the following steps related to the installed Swyx version.

After this you could validate, that the new firmware version was updated by checking the firmware version information.

Please note that the firmware and in particular the corresponding L7 phones are only be successively released and  technically supported from Swyx 13.20 onwards.

Manual Download of SwyxPhone Firmware

In the context of a standard Swyx installation is no need for a manual download and update of the SwyxPhone firmware. Nevertheless there are some use cases where the manual update or the usage of a local FTP server make sense or is mandatory.
