My microphone and/or my camera do not work with Swyx Meeting

For privacy reasons, Chrome and Firefox have microphone and webcam permissions disabled by default. If end users want to use Swyx Meeting for the first time, have recently deleted their browser cookies/cache or have reinstalled the browser, they must allow Swyx Meeting to use the camera and microphone to transmit video or audio content.

Enabling Chrome Permissions

Initial start-up

• When Swyx Meeting is used for the first time, the end user will be prompted to allow or block access to the camera and microphone in a pop-up window at the top of the screen.
  
• Click on Allow to enable your camera and microphone to be used within Swyx Meeting.

Subsequent start-up

• Click the camera icon on the top right of the URL/Search bar to display the following drop-down menu.
  
• Make sure that the https://meeting.swyx.com site is allowed to access the camera and microphone.

Enable Firefox Permissions

Initial start-up

• When Swyx Meeting is used for the first time, the end user will be prompted to allow or deny access to the microphone and camera via a drop down menu in the upper left corner of the screen.
  
• Make sure that the desired camera and microphone are selected.
• Check Remember this decision and then click Allow so that the microphone and camera can be used with Swyx Meeting.

Subsequent start-up

• Click the crossed-out camera or microphone icon on the far left of the URL/Search bar to display the following drop-down menu.
  
• Click the X next to Use the Microphone or Camera to unblock it.
• Reload the current page.
• Then follow the same setup steps as described above in the Initial start-up section.
