General
The information published here applies both to the SIP Trunk standard, which is dependant from the Internet connection of Deutsche Telekom, and to the SIP Trunk Pure.
The SIP Trunk of Deutsche Telekom was first tested and released with a SwyxWare 2015 R3.5.
Deutsche Telekom is offering a SIP trunk with user authentication. You have received information about UserID, UserName and UserPassword, whereas the naming may differ, or you might have only received UserName and -password. In this case, UserID and UserName are identical.
DNS configuration
There are basically three different scenarios here
Use of a Telekom Internet access (Telekom Busines DSL products, MagentaHome DSL products,...)
The name of the outbound proxy must be resolved via the Telekom DNS server. This is communicated by Telekom to the customer's router as part of the DSL connection setup (via PPPoE).
Use of symmetrical Telekom access products (Business Premium Access, DeutschlandLAN Connect IP, Company Connect)
The name of the outbound proxy must be resolved via the associated Telekom DNS servers of the access product, which are communicated to the customer by Telekom when the contract is concluded.
In contrast to DeutschlandLAN Connect IP and Company Connect, Business Premium Access offers a QoS Voice class in conjunction with the Voice VLAN and the Data VLAN.
Use of an Internet connection that is not provided by Telekom (third-party connection)
The DNS server of the third-party network provider should primarily be used on the third-party access.
The DNS server of the third-party network provider must support the so-called "ECS" feature.
If the DNS resolution fails, we recommend using the BPA DNS server.

Platforms
SwyxWare
The SIP trunk of Deutsche Telekom can be used without restrictions from SwyxWare 2015 R3.5.
However, the standard SIP trunk is linked to Deutsche Telekom's Internet connection, whereas the SIP trunk pure can be operated on any Internet connection.
SwyxOn
Due to the dependence on the connection with standard SIP trunk or due to further technical restrictions, the connection to the SIP trunk pure must also be made locally at the customer via a suitable gateway. Configuration instructions for a LANCOM gateway are available for download at the end of the KB article.
Configuration
During creation of the SIP Trunkgroup, profile 'Telekom Trunk TCP (DE)' must be selected.
If encryption is required, profile 'Telekom Trunk TLS (DE)' must be selected. It is mandatory to import the DTAG Root Certificate into the into the Windows-Certificate store of the SwyxWare server. Additional information (in German) can be found as download link at the end of this article.
Required information:
- Access number (previously T-Online Number) or Telephony-Username, i.e. 11223344
- Personal password for the Telekom SIP Trunk
- assigned number range, i.e. +49 401122330 - +49 4011223339
This information is provided by Deutsche Telekom when the connection is created or can be accessed through the Telekom customer center.
As UserId for the created SIP Trunk, the first number of the available number range has to be configured, i.e. +49401122330. User name is the Access number (previously T-Online Number) or Telephony-Username respectively.
During creation of the actual trunk, in the codec configuration dialog, T.38 has to be deselected as supported codec. This step could also be performed afterwards in the properties of the SIP trunk, underneath the 'Codecs' tab.

Disclaimer
Verifying interoperability between different SIP providers and the Swyx solution is part of the Enreach Technology Alliance Programme (TAP) tasks. Due to different implementations of the SIP RFCs, it is necessary to determine and provide an individual configuration for each SIP provider.
Within the TAP, Enreach tests a large number of national and international SIP providers in order to make statements about the interoperability with the Swyx solution and the functional scope of the respective SIP trunk. These results and, if needed, configuration advice are published in Help Center articles.
Enreach is in close contact with selected SIP providers to ensure a quick troubleshooting in case of incompatibilities. In addition, tests are repeated at regular intervals to ensure consistent quality.
Despite regular retests it cannot be excluded that incompatibilities with the Swyx solution may occur due to changes in the SIP connection on the provider side or that the provided profile is no longer valid. After creating the trunk group or SIP trunk, the profile settings should be compared with the provider's information and adjusted accordingly in case of deviations.
However, should incompatibilities or problems occur with a tested SIP trunk, no claims for recourse against Enreach GmbH can be derived from this. In such cases, you can contact Enreach Support via your specialist dealer.
