SUMMARY
The new SwyxIt! with integrated auto-update function and the activatable beta channel provides Enreach with a new flexibility in software distribution that was previously not available in the Swyx platform
New functions can now be shared with interested partners, customers and users at an early stage of development, feedback can be collected earlier than ever before and, due to the early phase, can also be taken into account directly.
The new SwyxIt! does not yet have the wealth of functions of the tried and tested SwyxIt! Classic, but is being continuously developed further. SwyxIt! 14.11 R3 Beta also stands for these continuous improvements. Release 3 contains mainly minor adjustments based on user feedback from recent months and will be made available in a first beta version before Christmas.
The beta package consists of a new SwyxIt! 14.11 R3 and can be easily distributed via the SwyxIt! beta channel without admin rights. Prerequisite is an installed, released SwyxIt! 14.10/14.11, a server update is not necessary.
INFORMATION
In addition to various UI/UX improvements, the new SwyxIt! 14.11 R3 Beta contains the drag & drop function for handling active calls, which is frequently requested by many users:
- Drag&Drop of incoming or active calls (‘lines’) to calls on hold (line keys ‘on hold’) , speed dial keys, phonebook entries, or journal entries to connect the call to another subscriber. (Note: It is not possible to initiate conferences via drag & drop in this version).
- Active notification when starting SwyxIt! if a user cannot be reached due to an activated ‘Immediate call forwarding’ or an activated DND status.
- Revision of the status window
- The status text can now be edited directly, Save and Cancel buttons have been removed
- The edit field for the user's status text now remembers the last 5 entries, making it easier to quickly set status texts with recurring content manually.
- Info if the configured presence status (e.g. available) differs from the current one (e.g. in a MS Team call)
- Tooltip for inactive buttons in the call control element to make it easier for the user to understand why the function is not currently available.
- When an e-mail is generated from the call journal, the ‘Call for’ information is now also added to incoming calls.
Participation in the beta phase for SwyxIt! 14.11 R3 is open to all users. Prerequisite is an installed SwyxIt! 14.10/14.11.
Activate the option ‘Get beta version’ in Settings/App settings. As soon as the beta version or an update of the beta version is available, it will be installed automatically. The user does not need admin rights on the PC.
If unexpected problems occur with the beta version, you can simply deactivate the switch in the settings - the released version SwyxIt! 14.11 R2 will then be installed again.
