SUMMARY

We are pleased to announce the release of our brand new Swyx version 14!

This new version comes with a number of innovative features and enhancements that will significantly improve the communication experience for our customers. 

Highlights of Swyx version 14: 

  • New SwyxIt! Windows App
    We have redesigned and improved SwyxIt! to provide an even more user-friendly and efficient communication platform. With new features and a modern design, SwyxIt! is even more powerful. At the same time, we have renamed our well-known SwyxIt! app 'SwyxIt! Classic' and given it a design refresh. Depending on the user profile, the right SwyxIt! app can be selected individually for each user.  

  • New mobile apps for Android and iOS
    Introducing our new mobile apps that enable seamless communication from anywhere. Whether you're in the office, on the move or working from home, our mobile apps offer the full functionality of Swyx to support flexible working. The new apps are only compatible with Swyx version 14 or newer versions. The Swyx Mobile 2020 apps can also continue to be used with Swyx 14. The iOS app is available via the Apple Appstore, the Android app is initially available as Beta via android.swyx@enreach.de. We are planning the final release at the end of May 2024. 

  • Native 64-bit support
    As part of our ongoing efforts to provide you with the best possible communication experience, we have successfully migrated our Swyx Server services to a 64-bit architecture. This move brings with it a number of benefits that will be felt by both you and your customers:  

    • Improved performance
      By using the 64-bit architecture, our Swyx servers can now access more memory and process larger amounts of data more efficiently. This results in faster response times and smoother operation of the entire platform.  

    • Resource-saving work 
      The move to 64-bit allows our Swyx servers to utilize resources more effectively while supporting a higher number of users and concurrent calls with reduced hardware requirements. This means that your customers will benefit from a more stable and reliable communication solution. 

Swyx version 14 also contains a number of new functions based on feedback from our customers. Further information can be found in the INFORMATION section. 

We are convinced that Swyx version 14 will provide significant added value for your customers and help you to further expand your business. The new version will be available in all variants in the course of 16.05.2024.

Below you will find an overview of the other new features in Swyx 14. 

  • New Swyx Connector for Microsoft Teams (Version 5) 

    • Update to the new Enreach design 

    • Improved UI/UX 

    • Direct access to call recordings added
      Swyx Connector for Microsoft Teams in the new version 5 or higher only supports the new Microsoft Teams Client.  

  • Swyx Control Center  

    • Advanced setting of the clients to be used added

    • Settings of the default client application (SwyxIt! or SwyxIt! Classic) 

    • Setting the SwyxIt! app per user  

  • Advanced configuration of the emergency numbers for Germany

    • Warning for configured emergency numbers for internal use 

    • Assignment of emergency numbers for internal use is no longer possible 

    • Extended configuration within the 'Expert settings' 

  • Adjustments in the configuration for Microsoft services

    • Adjustments in the configuration of the Swyx Connector for MS Teams 

    • Adjustments in the configuration of federated authentication with Entra ID (Azure AD)

  • SwyxIt! Classic Client 

    • 17 new skins in new design 

    • Improved UI/UX 

    • WebExtension support for Microsoft Edge WebView2  

  • Improved installation process 

    • Disabling of 'Native-Code Compilation' during installation. 

    • Pre-compilation of the necessary segments is performed asynchronously by the .NET Framework in the background.  

  • Adapted Microsoft Teams Presence Sync. Configuration 

  • Improved and configurable recognition of emergency numbers 

    • Consideration of the country code 

    • Optional deactivation possible in the configuration 

    • Blocking the allocation of reserved emergency numbers  

  • Swyx Service Start mode changed to “Automatic (delayed)” 

 

TECHNICAL CHANGES

  • Discontinuation support in SwyxIt! Classic 

  • Disabling of Master / Standby support 
    With Swyx version 14 the support of Master / Standby installations, as well as the setup of these, is completely discontinued on the software side 

  • Deactivation of Swyx Mobile Extension Manager support 

    • We plan to reintroduce parts of this functionality in future versions on a different technical basis.   

  • Discontinuation of ISDN support 
    SwyxGate will no longer be installed during installation. During an update, SwyxGate is also updated, but is not supported and cannot be used.
