It is recommended to perform the firmware update of the DECT system in a large maintenance window or after the end of service at the weekend, as the update may take some time depending on the system size until all devices are updated.
Please inform users that they place their handsets in the charging station at the end of duty.
Please delete the G.722 codec on the bases in advance.
Since the firmware is transmitted to the handsets via DECT radio, the same restrictions apply as for telephony. This means that a maximum of 8 simultaneous calls (with deleted G.722 codec) can be made per base, so only 8 handsets can be updated simultaneously. If possible, make sure that a maximum of 8 handsets are registered per base (better less). If more than 8 handsets are registered at a base, the remaining devices may not be updated after completion of the first 8 devices.
Please keep a minimum distance of at least 6 m between the bases and between the bases and the handsets.
It is not necessary to specify the TFTP path under which the firmware is stored on the DECT basis, this is configured in the TFTP server.
Please remember to disable the firmware update on the bases after ALL components (bases, repeaters and handsets) have been updated.
Simply enter a 0 (zero) in the Version and Branch field in the Firmware Update dialog and save/confirm.
Once this has been done, it appears in the user overview as follows:
If there are problems with the update, check the timeout and retry settings of the TFTP server and increase these values if necessary.
To upgrade a system to firmware version 3.55.x, at least firmware version 3.24.21 is required. This is available in the partner network.
Before updating the system, save the global phone book of the bases and the personal phone books of the handsets if they have been imported.
Finally, check on the bases in the server settings if the G.722 codec on the bases is still deleted, ALL bases/handsets have been updated and the firmware update is switched off on all bases. It may take a few minutes for the changes to "get around" on all bases.
Since version 3.55.27 the firmware update is more stable than in the previous versions.
Alternatively, you can also use the firmware update via http.
If problems should occur despite all the above-mentioned instructions (base or handset cannot be updated), please reset the affected components to factory settings.
The base can be reset via the web interface, the handsets as follows:
Press the Menu key
type in *service* or *7378423
Master reset
In rare cases, the user/handsets had to be deleted on the basis, a master reset performed, and the handsets re-registered.
