Summary:
SwyxServer detects Voicemails using a special X header and, if the option "Use only E-mails from SwyxServer's originating voicemail address" is activated, the originating address.
Information:
You can listen to new and old Voicemails using your Remote Inquiry.
The parameters can be defined on the Call Forwarding configuration of the user on the tab 'Standard Remote Inquiry':
Configuration of the Standard Remote Inquiry
The mail server, the assigned user account and the E-mail folder have to be defined. This E-mail folder will be scanned by SwyxServer. The checkmark "Use only E-mails from SwyxServer's originating voicemail address" indicates that SwyxServer has to scan only for Voicemails, which has been sent by this SwyxServer. SwyxServer compares the sender address with the sender address configured in the server properties. SwyxServer recognizes Voicemails via a special X header (see below).
This explains the following behavior:
-
The checkmark "Use only E-mails from SwyxServer's originating voicemail address" is activated (default behaviour)
- All Voicemails sent by SwyxServer directly are identified as Voicemails
- All Voicemails sent by another SwyxServer (different sender address) won't be identified as Voicemails.
- Also forwarded Voicemails ( e.g. from another colleague) won't be recognized as Voicemails.
- If a Voicemail is attached to an E-mail the E-mail doesn't have this X header. So SwyxServer doesn't detect it as a Voicemail.
- The checkmark "Use only E-mails from SwyxServer's originating voicemail address" is not activated
- All Voicemails sent by SwyxServer directly are identified as Voicemails
- All Voicemails sent by another SwyxServer are identified as Voicemails, too.
- Also forwarded Voicemails ( e.g. from another colleague) are recognized as Voicemails. The X header often remains unchanged.
- If a Voicemail is attached to an E-mail the E-mail doesn't have this X header. So SwyxServer doesn't detect it as a Voicemail.
For older SwyxWare versions there was the Text-To-Speech option package which offers the possibility to read an E-mail to the user. The checkmark "Use only E-mails from SwyxServer's originating voicemail address" was used to optimize the scan process only for Voicemails, especially for very big inboxes.
Example for the special X header:
Thr E-Mail Header has to contain a line starting with "X-IpPbX" or "X-Mailer:IpPbx".
X-Mailer: IpPbxSrv 6.1pl12
X-IpPbxVoicemailSender: Number:"011"
X-IpPbxVoicemailCalledNumber: "22"
X-IpPbxVoicemailDate: Thu, 28 Sep 2006 14:32:42 +0300
X-IpPbxVoicemailLength: 00:05
