In connection with SwyxDECT 500 systems problems may occur in certain configuration scenarios which cannot be solved with firmware upgrades or downgrades. What is more important is the careful planning and implementation of the DECT infrastructure. Please therefore observe the following notes.
To avoid call interruptions and to optimize the voice quality, the structure of the DECT infrastructure - especially with SwyxDECT 500 systems - must be checked with regard to the following criteria:
Notes on setting up the DECT infrastructure with repeaters
-If an existing DECT infrastructure is replaced, replace existing base stations with new base stations
-No "Repeater to Repeater" connection
-If possible, do without repeaters in order to avoid voice channel reduction on the base stations coupled to the repeaters (setup only in the DECT edge areas with low telephony).
-Check the number of required and existing voice channels in the DECT network design and, if necessary, add another base station.
-G.722 Disable wideband codec to increase the number of potential voice channels.
-When installing base stations, keep a minimum distance of 50 cm from metal infrastructures (steel girders etc.).
In many cases, the number of call interruptions can be significantly reduced and the overall call quality can be improved by observing the above-mentioned instructions.
Additional notes for firmware and SwyxWare release:
The following known bugs will be fixed with the release of SwyxWare 2015 R3:
-For some external calls via a gateway, there is no media streaming if a DECT handset is used as a controlled CTI+ terminal.
-If a DECT handset is used as a controlled CTI+ terminal, a call on hold cannot be activated if the active call has been cleared from the opposite side.
Known issues with firmware 3.24B0003:
-No busy tone, but message in the display
-In combination with SwyxCTI+ the default setting "Any" for the connected base station in the menu "Settings User > Location" can cause the SIP registration to change and the CTI+ connection to be lost. The solution is not to set the connected base station to "ANY" but to select a fixed base station.
