Information on troubleshooting, e.g. after a failed update of the Phonewhitelist
It may happen that the Phonewhitelist (PWL) update fails or is not performed correctly. To quickly identify and, if necessary, solve this problem, please proceed as follows:
Checking the file size
The normal size of the Phonewhitelist is approx. 3.222 KB, should this differ it can be
be that there was a problem during the update.
For a quick solution, proceed as follows:
1) Download the current Phonewhitelist from the Swyx Homepage or the Partner Net.
2) Create two folders such as:
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\PWL\
In this folder you create a new one like:
C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\PWL\extract\
and place the.MSI file in the PWL folder.
3) Please start the command line tool (cmd.exe)
You can unpack the PWL with the following command:
Msiexec /a "C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\PWL\PhoneWhitelist.msi" TARGETDIR="C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\PWL\extract\" /passive
Now you can replace the corrupt.dat file with the new PWL, in the default path…..
"C:\ProgramData\Swyx\IpPbxServer\PhoneWhitelist.dat"
...and replaced it with a new one. Afterwards a correct registration of the devices should be possible again without any problems.
