Summary

The following article contains step-by-step instructions on how to convert an existing SwyxWare Compact for Data Center Tenant to Swyx Flex Licensing. Please pay particular attention to the necessary prerequisites and preparatory work that must be carried out before the conversion.

Prerequisite and preliminary work

1. Please create a SwyxWare database backup in advance via the configuration wizard. Use this backup to return to the source in case of a faulty migration.
2. Prepare an active Swyx Flex License Order in the Operator for the day of the changeover, in which you keep sufficient Swyx Bundle Licenses for the users.
3. If you are using Swyx Messenger for your tenant and have activated it, you must first deactivate Swyx Messenger. You can deactivate the Swyx Messenger license by cancelling the corresponding order. This termination must have been done before ordering the Swyx Flex license.
4. When switching from SDC to Swyx Flex there will be a loss of persistent Swyx Messenger messages. The Swyx Messenger Cloud service will be completely reinitialised when the licence is changed.
5. You must have at least a SwyxWare 12.41 to use Swyx Flex. However, we recommend updating to the latest Swyx version with the change to Swyx Flex.

Steps

1. Deactivation of the Swyx Messenger licence if the feature is used on the tenant.
   
   
2. Create a Swyx Flex Order in the Operator
   Use the same domain here if you want to continue using Swyx Messenger.
   
   
3. Make a backup of the SwyxWare database via the SwyxWare configuration wizard.
   
   
4. Change the following registry on the server
   Execute the attached file cpe.reg on the SwyxWare server or change the value using the registry editor:
   • [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Swyx\General\CurrentVersion\Options] "InstallationType"=dword:00000000
     
     
5. Start the SwyxWare Configuration Wizard and activate the Swyx Flex license.

6. Assign the new bundle licenses to the users of the tenant.
   With the activation of the SwyxWare license all users will be moved to the Deactivated profile. Open the SwyxWare Administration or the SwyxWare Control Center and assign the necessary licenses to the users.

Rollback

1. Change the following registry key
   Execute the attached file sdc.reg on the SwyxWare server or change the value with the registry editor:
   • [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Swyx\General\CurrentVersion\Options]
     "InstallationType"=dword:00000001
2. Run the configuration wizard to restore the previously saved database backup.
