INFORMATION
This firmware version complies with the latest technical requirements of EU Directive EN 18031, "Cybersecurity in Radio Equipment." This is an extension of Article 3.3 of the Radio Equipment Directive regarding cybersecurity (RED 3.3).
Compliance with RED 3.3 is mandatory from 1st of August 2025 for all radio-equipped devices newly placed on the market in the EU. An update of already installed systems is recommended.
In addition to security-related improvements, the new firmware contains bug fixes for malfunctions observed in the field and minor improvements.
Note:
- The firmware for the SwyxPhone D863 includes a new Bluetooth driver for a new BT chipset. The firmware is therefore mandatory for operating the new hardware revision of the SwyxPhone D863/d63. The new HW revision is expected to be available from Q1 2026. The firmware is pre-installed on new handsets when they are delivered. A downgrade is not possible on these phones.
Known restrictions:
- Easy provisioning (Adding new handsets to the system) does not work reliable in an environment with more than one DECT system. Sometimes it needs more than one attempt to register. Workaround: Restart the handset and retry the initial provisioning.
Introduced with Swyx 13 SwyxDECT 800 can be operated in 2 different modes.
-
Swyx DECT-Integration: For the initial set-up of the Swyx DECT-Integration the DECT Master should be updated to the present FW v.13.1.2 (as usual). The update of the antennas ("slaves") and the handsets will then be done automatically as part of the Swyx DECT-Integration for SwyxDECT 800 feature.
Before updating your SwyxDECT 800 system, please check carefully if your installation meets the requirements for the operation of the Swyx DECT-Integration feature (Swyx Online Help).
- Classic installation w/o DECT-Integration for SwyxDECT 800: If your SwyxDECT 800 system does not meet the requirements for the use of Swyx DECT-Integration (e.g. Usage of Ascom Unite, IP-DECT GW, usage of multiple SyncMasters, Mirroring), you can continue to operate the system as usual. The update of the base stations will then be done as before, as well as the update of the handsets via the optional programming cradles or Ascom Unite.
For installations with Swyx DECT-Integration, the firmware package is automatically made available in the Swyx Control Center in a timely manner. For installations whose components are updated via a local software distribution, as well as for standard installations, suitable firmware packages will be made available for download in the Enreach Partner Net on a short notice.
