This article will help you to solve the most common problems of the SwyxIt! Outlook integration:
1.) SwyxIt Outlook Integration does not work.
2.) The name resolution for incoming calls and/or the name search on the skin does not work.
Information:
1.) Problem:
SyxIt Outlook Integration does not work.
Possible Reason:
The SwyxIt! Outlook Add-In was deactivated by another program or Add-In (e.g. a Virus Killer).
Solution (Outlook 2010 and 2013):
Start Outlook and select the "Add-Ins" region from the main menu. If these region does not exist or the SwyxIt! symbol is visible in the region (see screenshot) your SwyxIt! Outlook Add-In seems to be deactivated.
To reactivate the Add-In click on the "File" button in the top left corner of the main menu.
Then click on the "Options" button in the left menu.
A new window appears. Select "Add-Ins" in the left menu. In the middle of the window you will see a list of the installed Add-Ins. Select the "IpPbxOutlookAddin" Add-In. At the bottom of the window you will find a field named "Manage". Change the value to "Disabled Items" and click on the "Go" button.
Click on the "Checkbox". Save these settings and restart Outlook. Once Outlook is restarted the problem should be solved.
2.) Problem:
The name resolution for incoming calls and/or the name search on the skin do not work.
Possible Reason:
1. The search order of your Outlook addressbooks is not configured correctly.
2. The Outlook addressbook contains references to invalid or very huge external addressbooks (e.g. Microsoft CRM).
Solution:
Start Outlook and click on the "Addressbook" button in the top right corner of the main menu.
A new window appears. Select "Tools -> Options" from the top menu.
In the middle of the next window you will see a list of addressbooks. Here you have to change the order as follows:
- Global Address List
- Contacts
- ...
Furthermore remove old or not needed entries. This can improve the search performance significantly. Save these settings and restart Outlook. Once Outlook is restarted the problems should be solved.
