This article provides an overview of all released SwyxWare product versions with the most important features.

Swyx 14

Swyx 14.11

This release fixes the following bug in Swyx 14.10 for on-premises installations in the Swyx Connectivity Setup Tool SCST:

• The import of certificates does not work.
• When selecting ‘Configure remote connector only’, the tool no longer responds. In addition, the corresponding services no longer start automatically after a server restart.

Affected environments: This error occurs in Swyx 14.10 when the SwyxWare Server is running on a Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or 2019 with German language.

Swyx 14.10

New integrated call control for SwyxIt!
The external call control window in the new SwyxIt! 14 as well as in the Swyx Connector for MS Teams was not very popular with many users. Considering the usability of SwyxIt! Classic, they perceived the external window as a break with the previous Swyx usability philosophy. Therefore new dynamic call control elements were added to SwyxIt! 14.10 that are context sensitive to the current call scenario.

All features are also available in the Swyx Connector for MS Teams.

• Integrated call control enables call handling without an additional external application window
  • Dynamic line handling: Only active lines/calls are displayed
  • Basic call functions: Start/end call, answer call, reject call, transfer call to voicemail, hold & retrieve call
  • Additional features: Call swap, consultancy calls, call transfer, ad-hoc conferences, DTMF input
  • Start/stop call recording during a call
  • External application window with additional call handling options can be opened during a call
• Call notifications and call pick-up
• Call journal shows the initially selected call destination/number (‘Call for’) for incoming/missed calls
• The modal settings dialogues (‘Settings’) are displayed individually (without an external application window in the background)
• Improved application handling - SwyxIt! pops up for incoming calls (configurable)
• Automatic change of the light/dark design (dark/light mode) based on the Windows settings (configurable)

Swyx Control Center Update
The entire Swyx Control Center (SCC) has been revised, modernised and improved. The most important changes are related to performance and stability.

• Self-hosted web service. Microsoft IIS web server is no longer required and will not be enabled during installation
• Updated .NET framework to .NET8 (Core)
• .NET installer integrated into the Swyx Control Center setup
• Update of UI libraries

Voicemail Transcription
Voicemail transcription for all Voicemails in Swyx. The transcribed voicemails are sent by E-mail or can be read directly in SwyxIt!. The audio files are of course still available.

• Transcription of voice messages from personal voicemail, CRM and ECR voicemail blocks, provided the user has the appropriate rights
• Sending by e-mail and display in SwyxIt! (not SwyxIt! Classic)
• Transcription of group voicemails
• Activation per server and per user
• For all SwyxFlex and SwyxOn users with a Professional or Premium licence profile
• Group voicemail transcription must be purchased separately

Seamless Handover for Mobile Clients (iOS/Android)
The current Swyx Mobile App for iOS (Android to follow) already supports seamless handover from the mobile network to a WiFi network and back. However, Swyx/SwyxON 14.10 needs to be installed on the customer's side for seamless switching between networks.

• Update to SwyxWare 14 with Netphone update license key not possible.
• Mail templates for password reset and welcome mail have some wrong URLs.
• Swyx Main Service crashes when dialing 110/112 if the number of trunk channels is configured incorrectly to 0 / 0 / 0 (total, outgoing, incoming).

SwyxWare 13.33

We have fixed an important bug where a call to a user in Do Not Disturb (DND) status caused a dump and the call itself got stuck. This bug was caused by a regression in version 13.32. The fix significantly improves the stability and reliability of the system.

• Important changes for interaction with Microsoft services:
  • MS Teams presence synchronization configuration
    Improved integration and synchronization of status information between Swyx and MS Teams.
  • Changes to Microsoft Entra ID (Fed. Authentication)
    Updated authentication processes to support the latest Microsoft Entra ID standards.
• New push notification service:
  • IMPORTANT: This new service is mandatory for using the Swyx Mobile for Android applications from 30.06.2024. Make sure your systems are updated accordingly to ensure uninterrupted service.

• Bug fixes:

  • IpPbxSrv:
    • Trunk call lost due to no response to media renegotiation during call forwarding.
    • Caller name set by script is not displayed in call journal.
    • Call fails after forwarding via public number during VoiceBox recording.
    • Hunt groups do not work correctly since server-side DND handling.
    • For external calls to the VG queue to the parallel group, the resulting CDR destination name is no longer the user name that answered the call (affects CDR analysis).
    • It is not possible to perform semi-attended call forwarding to a script-only user.
    • The call routing property PBXGroup.Now does not consider the time offset of daylight saving time (-> return of UTC + 60min for CET zone after 1.4).
    • In special scenarios the server does not consider port changes of the SIP client.
  • LinkMgr:
    • Dump on exception if SIP register response has a faulty warning header.
  •  Admin and Powershell:
    • User SIP credentials cannot be deleted.
  • ConfigurationPlanner:
    • "Umlaute" lead to export errors.
  •  SwyxPhone L71:
    • Labels are too short in the German translation.
  •  ECR:
    • Call queue processing can get into loops and cause high CPU usage and trace amount if "Interval between greetings" is set to zero.
  •  SwyxON:
    • UDP is used instead of TCP for device/client communication after migration from OnPrem.
    • Wrong SCC URL after migration in UC client.
  • SCST:
    • WinACME component needs to be updated to latest version.
  •  Client:
    • Voice message is not displayed in the list if the caller is not set/blank (e.g. external call with suppressed number).
  •  GSE:
    • If "<<System's hold music>>" is selected in a "Set Queue Attributes" field, calls will hang up.
  •  SwyxIt!
    • The numbering of speed dials in two VG skins is wrong.
  •  Yealink:
    • Transfer from Yealink to Yealink (with CTI active) causes inconsistent line display.
  •  Server:
    • Renaming a user does not update the RC client certificate CN (Common Name).
  •  reSIProcate:
    • Disabled network interface with static DNS configuration causes registration timeouts.
  •  General:
    • Allow internal -> external number replacement on trunk group for public call from user without public number.

SwyxWare 13.31

• Remote Connector for Yealink (SwyxON)
  With this version it is possible to connect Yealink devices to a SwyxOn tenant without an additional site-2-site VPN connection (without VPN or SBC gateway on the customer side).

  • Hybrid scenarios possible on one tenant
    Parallel connection of telephones via OpenVPN and via customer-side VPN gateway to a SwyxON tenants

  • Please note that as of this version, the assignment of a Yealink device with Feature Pack license to a user is only possible if the target user is also assigned corresponding licenses.

• Extended emergency call functionality for Germany

  • Leading '0' (outside line access) when making an emergency call (110/1120 in Germany) is no longer required.

  • Existing configured or licensed trunk channel limits are ignored. The call is always delivered!

  • Any configured call number suppression is ignored. The outgoing call number is always signaled! If more than one external trunk is configured and available, preference is always given to the trunk whose assigned location matches the location of the emergency caller.

  • If the user has not configured a public phone number, a valid phone number of the SIP trunk used is signaled to ensure that the call is not rejected by the provider.

• Enhancements
  • Simplified port forwarding configuration
    The port forwarding configuration for the Remote Connector Service can be carried out by changing a configuration file instead of registry keys.
    
    • IMPORTANT: Registry keys that were configured for RemoteConnector port forwarding in previous versions will be ignored after the update to 13.30 and must be reconfigured with the file "CPE_ippbx_cpe.rcconfig".
      Please follow the instructions in the administrator manual.
  • SwyxIt! instant messaging
    Client updated with the latest security patches.

SwyxWare 13.29

• Centralized induvidual provisioning for Yealink phones
  • Yealink phones allow many settings to be made on the phone itself or via provisioning.
    With this new function, it is possible to distribute additional features or functions on the phone to the phones via provisioning.
  • This distribution of parameters can also be restricted or individualized to device types or even individual devices.
• Swyx purchase via operator
  • Swyx purchase licenses via operator no longer require a permanent online connection for verification.
  • Please note that changes to the corresponding Operator orders, such as license extensions, are only available via an active online connection in Swyx.
•  SwyxIt! web extension is now based on Edge WebView2 - BETA
  • The SwyxIT! Web Extension can now also be operated on the basis of Edge WebView2.
  • To simplify the transition, you can set which library (IE or WebView2) is to be used for each web extension individually.
  • Our integrated WebExtension for VisualContacts and VisualGroups are currently still based on the IE Component Library. These will be converted in the next versions.
• Remote Audio feature now officially released with this version
  • The remote audio feature leaves beta status and is now officially released.
• Enhancements
  • Improved keymodule configuration for L7x phones

SwyxWare 13.28

• New Self Service Password and Reset Feature:
  • Administrators but also users can now request a password recovery via SwyxIt! or directly in the Swyx Control Center and create a new password via a self-service.
  • With the new procedure, initial passwords are now completely excluded from being sent by e-mail. Instead, a temporary recovery link is provided, which the user can use to create a new password.
  • The passwords are encrypted in the database according to the latest security standard and cannot be decrypted and thus displayed.
    
    
• Support CTI+ with mobile Swyx Mobile Apps
  • We have added another switch in the Expert Settings of the Swyx Control Center to enable the use of CTI+ with our Swyx Mobile Apps and SwyxIt!
  • Please note that this activation may cause restrictions when using DECT devices and CTI+ at the same time.
    
    
• Extension of the Swyx PowerShell module
  • Via an extension in the Swyx PowerShell module user specific features can now be assigned to users in "bulk".
  • This functionality helps e.g. with the assignment of Swyx Phone licenses in bulk, which are needed to use the full feature set when using Unify Phones not purchased via Enreach.
    
    
• Support for the new native Webview2 based Microsoft Teams App
  • Microsoft has announced a new native Teams App for Windows.
  • To use our Swyx MS Teams Connector, you can either update to the 13.27.1 SwyxIT! released on 08/24/2023 or upgrade to SwyxWare 13.28.
  • Please note that to use the Swyx MS Teams Connector with the new Microsoft MS Teams App and Swyx 13.28, the SwyxIT! Client must also be updated to 13.28.

  • During a call transfer from Yealink to another Yealink device, inconsistent line information are now corrected
  • In Swyx Control Center the line keys of Yealink T31G can now be configured.
  • Sending group voicemail messages works now.

SwyxWare 13.27.1

This version fixes the following errors:

• Call "OnHold" request can in some cases lead to a termination of the call, which is triggered by a DUMP of the server and a related restart.
• Swyx Messenger: Web links containing a "&" are rendered unusable in chat by HTML escaping.
• SwyxWare 13.27 refuses playback of non-standard wave files

SwyxWare 13.26

• This version is primarily a maintenance release that contains solutions to the following known bugs:

  • Config Wizard: PNS service is not started after completion of the wizard.

  • SwyxIt! echo on ringtones cannot be played via DirectSound.

  • MS Teams Sync: Insufficient error detection and missing service dependency

  • uaCSTA: If TCP connection to uaCSTA service is interrupted, switching function devices are not updated on new logon. uaCSTA devices do not connect automatically anymore.

  • SwyxWare: It is no longer possible to change own SwyxWare password when using Windows AD authentication of SwyxIt!

  • Link Manager: Possible dump during startup

  • Link Manager: Possible dump of SIP actions after configuration change

  • Phone Manager: Firmware update of L74 and L77 does not work

     

• In addition, new SwyxIt! MS Teams skins in Dark and Light Mode in HD resolution have been released with this version.

SwyxWare 13.25

• Swyx MS Teams Connector in Terminal Server environment

  • The Swyx MS Teams Connector App can now be used in Terminal Server environments.

  • Please note requirements of MS Teams when operating in Terminal Server environments.

• Enhanced MS Teams presence status synchronization

  • SwyxWare status "speaking" can now be synchronized with MS Teams

  • Every SwyxWare user who calls with a terminal or client app on SwyxServer gets the status "speaking".

  • This status is forwarded to Microsoft Teams and the status of the MS Teams user changes accordingly to the status "Busy" and activity "In conversation".
    The MS Teams status "In a Call", which is triggered by the SwyxWare status "Speaking", currently has no effect on the Microsoft Teams call policy "Busy-on-Busy".

SwyxWare 13.15

New features:

• It is now possible for administrators to configure the Identity Provider via SwyxControlCenter to allow SwyxWare users with Federated Login on SwyxIt! clients.
  The following Identity Providers are currently supported:

    Attention. Correct user matching is done using the email address entered in SwyxWare user properties.

SwyxWare 13.10

• For this purpose, a flag was enabled which unlocks the Acoustic Shiled feature on Yealink T5 deskphones. A user can then activate this by pressing a button in the display during a call.

SwyxWare 12

SwyxWare 12.41

This release is a maintenance version, which includes fixes of the following bugs:

• Problems with call distribution in VisualGroups version 1.6.x when users with german special characterss were activated in the queue: The new web request code failed when converting the UTF-8 to UTF-16/wide
• Random one-way media streaming on outgoing calls via DT ComplanyFlex fixed.
• Correction which caused abort of database update in SwyxWare Configuration Wizard of SwyxWare 12.40.
• Corrected change of base URL in SwyxWare 12.40 for device provisioning of Yealink phones. The bug that phones which could not retrieve further provisioning updates after the update to v12.40 is hereby corrected.
• When using the PNS the following error occurred with SwyxWare 12.40, which has been fixed here:
  • The registry key General/LocalIpAddress is used to force SwyxWare to use a specific interface for binding. After upgrading to the new PNS 2.0.2 this registry key was not read anymore and the first interface in the enumeration is used.

• SwyxWare/Msi Filecheck: Copyright is still "Copyright © 2000-2020 Swyx Solutions GmbH

This SwyxWare version as well will also fix a known automatic reconnect issue of Yealink desk phones, if the connection of the phones to server was lost. A new Yealink firmware version (66.85.133.3) must be as well provisioned to the phone in order to fix the issue. This firmware is available in our firmware information
